Steve Cyr's "Guide to Paigow"
This fascinating game from the Orient is played with
three-dimensional cards or dominoes. The dealer shuffles the dominoes,
then rolls three dice. The player to receive the first set of dominoes
is determined by the total of the dice. Four dominoes are dealt to each
player, the dealer and each vacant position on the table.
Each player creates two hands with the four dominoes, a high hand and a
second high hand. The object of the game is to create two hands that are
both higher than the bank hand. If both are higher, the player wins. If
one hand is higher and the other lower, it is a tie. If both hands are
lower, the player loses. The bank is rotated after each round of play,
with the players and the dealer taking turns.
Payoffs are even money, and the house collects a 5% commission on all
winning wagers.
